Facial fillers: preparation and procedure

The purpose of preparation for a facial filler appointment is to turn a vague rejuvenation desire into a clear implementation plan. Health records, old products, target areas and tracking order should be considered together. Instead of focusing solely on the injection on the appointment day, learning why the product was chosen and what limits it has provides a more informed decision.

Mapping previous face applications

Write down the area where a filler or other injection was previously performed and the dates. If you do not know the product name and quantity, it may be helpful to request old clinical records. Don't guess unknown information. Specify if you have had a nodule, long-lasting rash, infection, or lysis in the past. Other procedures, such as thread lift or surgery, also contribute to the assessment of facial anatomy. The physician may request additional examination or postponement based on this history. Just because an old product does not cause any apparent problems does not mean that it can be safely added to the new injection.

Health list and scheduling interview

Organize your allergies, chronic diseases, medications and supplements before the appointment. Do not store information such as active infection, recent dental procedure, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Bleeding tendency and previous healing problems are also important to the physician. Do not stop medication or start antibiotics as a precaution at your own discretion. If you have travel and important event dates, share them; Bruising or swelling may affect appearance. The physician can discuss availability with your schedule, but airfare does not invalidate a medical evaluation. Make a clear plan to postpone the appointment if necessary.

Clarify the regions and product in writing

Repeat in your own words which change is targeted in which regions. Ask the physician for the exact name of the product, its ingredients, the rationale for the dosage schedule, and the possibility of phased administration. Hyaluronic acid-based filler and other ingredients are not the same; Do not assume that a product will be used the same way on all facial areas. Assessment of the face at rest and in motion is part of the plan. Startup photos can help compare results. Keeping these photographs for clinical record purposes and using them for promotion are separate issues. Do not decide to share images without knowing what consent includes.

Understanding the procedure steps and the security setup

Cleaning, if necessary, an approach to reduce discomfort and a personalized injection plan are explained by the physician. Using a needle or cannula does not eliminate all risks. Product and procedure information should be recorded in the file. Be prepared for the possibility of minor bruising, tenderness, and swelling. Report immediately if unusual pain or skin discoloration occurs; Change in vision requires immediate evaluation. Ask in advance about the clinic's plan for evaluation and referral for serious cases such as vascular occlusion. A quick session is not a substitute for detailed information and risk discussion.

Release, maintenance and subsequent check

Receive personal instructions for massage, area pressure, make-up, exercise and warm environments before your appointment ends. Do not try to shape the face yourself. Know when it makes sense to check as the initial look includes edema along with the product. A new implementation decision should not be inferred from this early outlook. Clarify the channel through which you will reach the clinic when you return home and the procedure for contacting the local health service if necessary. You must also have the product name and date record. Remember that the outcome may be temporary and not every goal can be fully met; The care plan is also individual.

Should I tell you where my old filler is?

Yes. Product, date, region and problems may affect the evaluation. If you lack knowledge, say so openly; The physician may request additional examination when necessary.

Does using a cannula mean zero risk?

No. Tool selection is part of the physician's decision. The possible harms of the procedure, including serious vascular-related risks, and the emergency plan should also be discussed.

Can my photos be automatically used in promotion?

The use of clinical recording and promotion are not the same purpose. Ask what consent you are giving and how the images will be stored; If there is uncertainty, ask for clarification.
