Facial fillers: suitability and consultation
The decision for facial fillers requires consideration beyond the desire to fill a single line. Volume loss, skin quality, tissue laxity and bone structure are not the same thing. Separating these elements in the interview helps you understand what goal the filler can contribute to and what expectation it may not meet. The same approach is not suitable for every region.

Evaluating the whole face, not the line
A line around the mouth or a shadow on the midface may lead you to look for fillers. However, that appearance may not be due solely to the lack of volume in the area. Light, facial movement, support of surrounding tissues and skin structure are effective together. The physician evaluates the face from the front and profile, at rest and during movement. Explain which area is important to you to change. Wanting a line to be completely erased can sometimes create an expectation of more volume than necessary. Ask how the plan relates to facial proportions; Not every shade is a reason to add new products.
Product type and legacy applications
Dermal fillers may have different content, structure and usage purposes. Hyaluronic acid is a family of products; Hearing this name alone does not mean that all products behave the same. If you have had fillers before, share product, date, region and quantity information. In cases where the old product is unknown or may be persistent, additional evaluation may be required. Do not hide a history of hardness, nodules, infections, or melts. Implementing the new product over the old is not an automatic plan. The physician must explain why he or she recommends a particular product and how he/she will retain registration information.
How does health information change eligibility?
Active skin or oral infections, allergies, immune system problems, and medications that affect the risk of bleeding are important in the evaluation. Report pregnancy or breastfeeding status. Recent dental procedures and other facial procedures may affect timing. Instead of stopping prescription medications yourself, give the complete list to the physician. Just because you had good results before does not eliminate the need to evaluate your current health status. When necessary, examination may include postponing the procedure or not performing it at all. The suitability decision should not be reduced to a definitive quantity recommendation based on photography.
Learning the limits of filler and alternatives
Fillers do not solve every skin problem and are not the same as facelift surgery. Adding volume for significant looseness, surface texture, or pigment change may not meet the goal. When necessary, the physician should discuss different approaches, monitoring alone, or the option of not having any procedure. Product selection, quantity and gradual approach are individual. More filler does not mean a younger or more balanced appearance. The duration of effect of each product and the ability to make changes when necessary are different. The hyaluronic acid melt option also requires separate medical evaluation; Not all fillings are reversible.
Region-specific risk and follow-up questions
Swelling, bruising, tenderness, asymmetry and nodules may be observed. Serious risks such as infection and vascular occlusion should also be discussed. Unintentional injection into a vein can cause severe consequences such as skin damage, vision loss or stroke. Ask about the relationship of the practice site to these risks and the clinic's emergency assessment regimen. Unusual pain, paleness, darkening, or changes in vision require immediate help. The result is evaluated after the initial swelling subsides; permanent duration or perfect symmetry is not guaranteed. It is useful to consider the follow-up and recording plan as part of the approval.
Does facial filler always relieve laxity?
No. Volume loss and tissue laxity are different. Fillers can contribute to a suitable target, but not every face has the same effect or the same result as surgery.
Can every filler be dissolved?
No. This option can be considered in some hyaluronic acid-based products. Other products behave differently and dissolving is not risk-free or a guaranteed return.
Is one photo alone sufficient for the interview?
Photography can provide initial information, but movement, tissue characteristics, and product history are evaluated during examination. It is not convenient to extract the exact product or quantity from the photo for everyone.
