What a course of laser or HIFU sessions looks like
Why laser hair removal is usually planned as a course, how HIFU sessions are discussed, and how to fit either around international travel without assuming outcomes.

Laser hair removal and HIFU are both energy-based treatments, yet they work in different ways and are discussed for different concerns. What they share is that a single appointment is often only part of the conversation. Understanding why sessions are spaced out helps you decide whether a treatment fits around one trip, several trips or not at all.
We coordinate appointments with partner clinics in Istanbul. The treating clinician decides whether a treatment is suitable, which device is used and how sessions are planned.
Why laser hair removal is planned as a course
Laser hair removal targets hair follicles with light energy. At any given time, hairs are at different stages of growth, which is why a course of sessions is often discussed rather than one visit. One appointment cannot promise complete removal, and the number of sessions that may be suggested differs between people and body areas.
Suitability depends on several factors that the clinician will assess:
Your skin tone and hair colour, both of which affect suitability.
Recent tanning, or sun exposure you are planning during your trip.
The device proposed, and how its settings are chosen for you.
The eye protection used during the session.
If you have tanned recently or plan to spend time in the sun, mention it early. It may change whether a session is suggested during this particular trip, and it is easier to adjust plans before flights are booked.
How HIFU sessions are discussed
HIFU uses focused ultrasound energy and is discussed for selected concerns about skin firmness. Devices differ and should not be assumed equivalent, so the exact device, the target area and the suitability assessment all matter. HIFU does not reproduce a surgical facelift, and a careful clinician will explain the expected degree of change, the evidence for the device and any limitations related to your facial anatomy.
Questions worth asking include which device will be used, how the target area is chosen and what you might notice in the days after a session. Whether one session or more is suggested, and how far apart, is something to ask directly rather than assume from general descriptions online.
Fitting sessions around international travel
Intervals between sessions are set by the clinician, and they do not always line up neatly with flight schedules or holiday dates. If you are visiting Istanbul once, it may make sense to treat the first appointment as an assessment and a starting point, then decide whether repeat visits are realistic for you.
Ask what gap between sessions is typically discussed, and whether there is any flexibility.
Ask whether sessions could continue with another provider at home, and what information you would need to take with you.
Plan around sun exposure, since recent tanning affects laser suitability, and ask what sun protection is advised afterwards.
Leave some time after the session in case the skin feels sensitive, rather than booking a flight straight afterwards.
Treatment fees are set by the partner clinic and confirmed to you in writing by us before any treatment.
Setting realistic expectations
Responses to laser and HIFU vary from person to person. It is reasonable to be wary of any description that sounds certain, whether about the number of sessions, the degree of change or how long an effect may last. Ask the clinician what they would consider a realistic outcome for you, what the treatment is unlikely to address and how progress would be reviewed.
Is one laser hair removal session enough?
A course is usually discussed, because hairs are at different growth stages at any one time. The treating clinician will advise how many sessions may be suggested for your skin, hair and treatment area.
Does HIFU give the same result as surgery?
No. HIFU does not reproduce a surgical facelift. Ask the clinician to explain the expected degree of change and any limitations related to your anatomy.
Can I sunbathe during my trip if I am having laser treatment?
Recent tanning affects suitability for laser hair removal, so mention any planned sun exposure at your consultation. The clinician will advise how to plan around it.
If you would like to explore laser or HIFU during a visit to Istanbul, our coordinators can help you arrange an assessment and plan the dates. Reach us on WhatsApp or through the contact form; the treating clinician will advise on suitability and session planning.
